Redwood Moving & Storage joins the fight

Owner, Bob Fraser, is the current Chairman for the CMSA (California Moving & Storage Association).  Each year the current Chairman selects a charity of their choice for the "Chairman's Choice Charity" program, wherein the CMSA contributes $5,000.00.  The Chairman's Choice Charity program was introduced last year by Senior Chairman Patrick Longo to bolster an already amazing organization that currently provides approximately 30 student scholarships, many vocational scholarships, and several Special Olympics Athlete Sponsorships. Bob, and Redwood Moving & Storage are very excited to select the National Breast Cancer Foundation as the recipient for the 2016/2017 term.

"With the board's approval, I have selected the National Breast Cancer Foundation.  Unfortunately, we all know someone who has been impacted by this disease.  I have two sisters who have successfully battled breast cancer with courage and dignity.  I'm proud to support the Foundation's efforts in providing help and hope to assist women affected by breast cancer through early detection and educational services.  We will be outfitting our crews with pink shirts during the month of October to inspire our customers to make a donation to the Foundation.  I was absolutely moved by our employees' willingness and desires to get involved."  -Bob Fraser

National Breast Cancer Foundation

National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34.  At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options.  After her treatment, Janelle made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the imporance of early detection.

NBCF's mission is to help women now by providing help and insipiring hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education and support services.  Breast cancer is one fo the leading health crises for women in the United States.  1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime.  There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival.  However, with increased healthcare costs and a rapidly increasing percentage of uninsured women, many simply cannot afford the cost of screening tests.  These women are a significantly higher risk of dying from breast cancer if later diagnosed.  That's why NBCF provides free mammograms to women in all 50 states through our network of hospitals.  We are now joining hands with people around the world to provide breast cancer education.
